Microenterprise | Microenterprise |
Microenterprise has emerged as one of the most powerful ways to empower those living in poverty. With the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank in 2006, the field of microenterprise has received new focus and increased importance. Microfinance is an easy, effective way to help the poor create a better life for their families and provide meaningful contributions to their greater communities. We are working closely with microenterprise partners on the ground who have established trust and credibility within the community. Together with Wekembe Microfinance, we are bringing the Grameen Bank Village Banking model to the most needy communities. Our plans include working closely with women's groups to teach jewelry-making and marketing skills to bring their products to the world markets. |
