At Just Like My Child Foundation, we are painfully aware of the critical need for immediate improved health care in Uganda. And we understand that in order for a developing country to rise to its true potential, raise young, ambitious leaders, and become a contributing member to the global economy, the spread of disease must stop. And it can.

The resources, the capacity, the training, and the knowledge is all in place. In Uganda, it has become clear that many of the lifesaving tools that are needed are very simple to locate and put to use, but the money for their acquisition is simply not available.

Just Like My Child has partnered with Bishop Asili Hospital in Uganda, East Africa, to work side by side on several healthcare initiatives:

• Distributing life-saving medicines and resources (such as ARV treatment for individuals with HIV/AIDS) and Providing HIV/AIDS Treatment and Prevention Education to communities surrounding Bishop Asili


• Constructing a fully-equipped Surgical Suite - Drastically improving health care at Bishop Asili, attracting more fee-for-service patients and ensuring sustainability of the hospital


• Malaria Treatment and Prevention by distributing insecticide-treated bed nets and treatment/prevention education for tens of thousands of people in rural Uganda


• Reducing Maternal Mortality by ensuring emergency surgical obstetric procedures can be performed at Bishop Asili- procedures saving the lives of thousands of women who might otherwise face higher risk of complication during birth
