Why build a school in Kikoiiro, Uganda?

Kikoiiro, Uganda is a rural community located deep in the bush of the central part of the country. Very little government support finds its way to this community of many thousands of people.

The HIV rate here is well over 15%.

The education system is very inferior. Lack of education is killing many mothers and children in this community yet the parents are VERY eager to improve the education system.

Parents are eager to work together with Just Like My Child Foundation to change the future of their children. Just $150,000 will build a 7-room school house, pay 7 teachers for a year, build houses for the teachers and pay for most initial supplies. We are collaborating with the community to invest their time, energy and resources into creating the school so that they "own" the project.
